Distrupol enhances its colour compounds offering to customers throughout Europe

Distrupol has announced the conclusion of a strategic agreement with Matrix Plastics, UK, that will further enhance its already strong colour compounds offering. The agreement, which will see Distrupol move its colour compounding business to the Matrix Plastics site in Slough, UK, will provide its European customers with a progressively expanding range of new colour choices.

The state-of-the-art Matrix Plastics’ production facility has 10 compounding lines with a capacity of over 7,500 tons, and will provide Distrupol with the necessary platform from which to grow its offering in-line with market needs.

We are confident that this agreement will lead to both a broadening of our current offering and the opportunity to add even more value to the service currently provided to our customers.”

According to Matrix Plastics’ Director, Nigel Batt: “We are very pleased to be working with Distrupol and look forward to providing them with an outstanding level of customer service on all their colour compounding needs. Earlier this year we invested in new extrusion equipment to increase our compounding and masterbatch capacity and can confidently meet the rising demand for our products and services.”

Under the new arrangement the colour compounding operation will continue to deliver quick colour matching, precision to fine delta-e values and short lead times, and colour solutions in batches as small as 100kg. Moreover, it will remain complementary to Distrupol’s Art-to-Part package, which uses computer simulation to take a concept through the stages of material selection, tool design, testing and sampling in order to help customers get their products to market faster.

Also unchanged is the provision of customer assistance with colour selection. Distrupol’s online, interactive ‘Colour-picker’ tool enables customers to create their own individual colour scheme by picking from a palette of colours according to their category of application (consumer, industrial, automotive, extrusion or transparent) and choice of polymer. This information is then summarised in an online enquiry form and passed to Distrupol’s sales and development team for a rapid response.
