Distrupol appoints new development engineer for the South West

Steve Rutland has recently been appointed the new Development Engineer for Distrupol UK in the South West. “We are delighted to welcome Steve to our expanding technical team. His technical experience and material knowledge will be of great benefit to our customers, and may give them an advantage in terms of performance, processability and costs,” says Gerry Moore, managing director of Distrupol UK.

“Over the past months we have invested significantly in people and the appointment of Steve boosts our UK technical team to six full-time engineers. Combined with our external sales team, this means that Distrupol has more sales and development staff on the ground for customer support than any other materials supplier in the UK.”

“As Development Engineer at Distrupol, the majority of my time is spent in direct liaison with customers, helping them to select the right material for new developments, optimize processes and recommend alternative materials for existing aplications. With new customers to meet and fresh challenges to approach, I am looking forward to future opportunities,” says Steve Rutland.

A graduate in Materials Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering) and Polymer Technolnogy (Master of Science), Steve had worked for Avon Rubber in various technical positions over the last eight years, prior to joining Distrupol. Work carried out on behalf of Avon and its customers included the development of new compounds and the optimisation of production processes such as mixing, extrusion and injection moulding.
