Distrupol expands UK and Iberia product portfolios with Transmare PP materials

In a new agreement with Transmare Compounding B.V. from the Netherlands, Distrupol has become the sole distributor of the Transmare® polypropylene range of products in the UK, Spain and Portugal as of April 1.

The agreement is an extension of the pre-existing relationship Distrupol has with the Dutch compounder. “We have distributed Transmare products to customers through our subsidiaries in other regions since 2004,” explains Gerry Moore, Managing Director, Distrupol UK. “We are now set to replicate our sales and service success with these products in the Iberian and UK markets.”

According to Moore, Transmare PP represents an important addition to the materials portfolio now being offered by Distrupol UK and Distrupol Iberia. “It’s not simply about increasing product numbers,” he says. “Of key importance is achieving a balance and spread of materials and material grades, to maximise the solution possibilities we can bring to customers’ projects.”

The Transmare product range comprises all types of polypropylene. These include virgin, regenerated and industrial quality grades, unfilled, impact modified, mineral filled up to 75%, glass fibre reinforced up to 60% and long glass fibre reinforced up to 60%, as well as biodegradable and bamboo fibre reinforced grades. They cover the complete spectrum of customer requirements, from excellent mechanical and electrical performance to high impact and wear resistance. The property profiles both of Transmare’s standard and tailor-made products suit them for applications in a wide cross-section of industries, including automotive, building and construction, electrical and domestic appliances.
