Thermal insulation and design

January 13th, 2014 (Shanghai, China) – Economical system solutions must satisfy the exacting demands of architects and clients. Therefore, in addition to energy efficiency and design, simplicity and flexibility are important key criteria for Schüco. The latest development in this regard is SimplySmart technology, which greatly simplifies and optimises the generally increased complexity of highly thermally insulated window systems. One example of this is the new mechanical and concealed Schüco AvanTec SimplySmart fitting, which combines timeless design, varied functionality and simplified fabrication. This fitting is the first concealed fitting in the world which, besides 90°, is optionally able to open to an extended angle of 180°, which is becoming increasingly important in the face of changes in the use of buildings. Vent weights of up to 250 kg for side-hung vents and 200 kg for turn/tilt vents are further outstanding features.

In addition to the new fitting, SimplySmart technology from Schüco is based on three further themes: thermal insulation, integrated functionality and sustainability. In the area of thermal insulation, the company has optimised the AWS window system in the core basic depth of 75 mm in order to satisfy future legal requirements. The Schüco AWS 75.SI+ window boasts a Uf value of 1.2 W/(m2K), which is unrivalled in this basic depth, with a face width of 117 mm. Furthermore, the AWS modular system in this basic depth has been expanded to include an outward-opening window system, with the result that a change in basic depth between inward and outward-opening windows, which had been a necessity up to now, is no longer required. With its new AWS 90 BS.SI+ block window system, Schüco is also showing that thermal insulation and design do not have to be mutually exclusive. By using narrow face widths, particularly harmonious glazing sight lines can be created without visible window vents – and with a Uf value of 1.1 W/(m2K) and a face width of 95 mm, this system completes the range of windows to passive house standard.

In order to display the high performance of SimplySmart technology for customers, Schüco specially established a related studio area at a recent show. In this area, Schüco technical staffs and engineers gave a detailed and vivid introduction and installation demonstration for all the visitors, which helped the visitors fully understand the concept, advantage and convenience of Schüco SimplySmart technology.
