Ascend Announces New Resins for the Cable Tie Market

HOUSTON – May 20, 2013 — Ascend Performance Materials Inc. is introducing a new class of impact and weather resistant Vydyne grades that are designed specifically for cable tie manufacturers who service the transportation, heavy equipment or industrial markets. These new grades will offer a superior combination of impact resistance, UV resistance, and flow (up to 10% higher), as compared to the general purpose impact modified grades typically used in cable-tie applications. These new Vydyne grades are sure to improve processing potential and allow customers to expand their cable tie product range.

• Working collaboratively to meet new regulatory and market trends

• Continually bringing improved products specifically designed for the cable tie industry

• Investing to meet the market demand with reliable supply

“We are excited to introduce these new resins,” said Craig Brazel, Ascend’s global cable tie segment leader. “These are a continuation of a series of new products we will be introducing in the coming 18 months to strengthen our position in the cable tie market. This is one example of the work we are doing as part of our long-term commitment to the cable tie industry.”
