PROFESSIONAL-GRADE ON-THE-ROAD PROTECTION FOR VEHICLE EXTERIORS WITH NEW AVERY GRAPHICS FILMS

Leiden, The Netherlands - Avery Dennison Graphics & Reflective Products Europe are adding a new element to their portfolio of Avery Graphics products: professional-grade self-adhesive surface protection films for automotive exteriors. The new Avery 7000 Functional Films range can be used over printed or computer-cut graphics and vehicle wraps, or as 'stand alone' protection directly applied to vehicle paintwork.

Saving money for fleet owners

Says Bill Podojil, Sales and Marketing Manager, Automotive, for Avery Dennison Graphics & Reflective Products: 'On-the-road damage to cars, vans, and trucks is a major expense centre today for companies running commercial vehicle fleets. It makes sense to protect at least the critical areas of bodywork from stone chipping, surface abrasion, and other external factors. Avery 7000 Functional Films are designed to provide outstanding protection, with the added value of real cost savings for the transport owner. Vehicle resale values are maintained if paintwork is undamaged; and costly replacement of single self-adhesive decals when printed or signcut graphics are disfigured can be avoided.'

Helping signmakers add value

The Avery 7000 Functional Films range features a choice of three transparent, extra-durable films:150 micron and 325 micron specially-modified vinyls offering a five-year applied life, and a 200 micron polyurethane film offering a seven-year applied life. Complementing these core products are the exterior blackout films: 150 micron fine-grained and 200 micron medium-grained textured, black, specially modified vinyl films for optimal surface protection.

Bill Podojil explains the extra value they offer: 'A real feature of the exterior blackout films is the opportunity they give to signmakers to add a "go faster" element to their clients' vehicles. They can be converted into side striping and contoured decals for vehicle roofs, pillar and mirror trim, running boards, bumpers, and other key areas, and look especially good when applied to a contrasting colour of bodywork. For extra aesthetics, the films can be high-frequency welded to add logos or other graphic elements to the film's surface. And for aficionados of customised cars, of course, these films also allow the signmaker to demonstrate his skills at creating something truly unique!'

Avery 7000 Functional Films are best converted by die-cutting to give a crisp edge to the decals when applied. All are supplied with a permanent, UV-resistant, acrylic based adhesive and a one-side-coated 140gm² bleached kraft backing paper. They adhere well to both flat and slightly-curved car exterior components, and all are designed to withstand high-pressure cleaning equipment.

Avery 7000 Functional Films are available ex stock from Avery Graphics distributors throughout Europe. Visit the website, www.averygraphics.com, to identify local distributors, or to access full details of these new products.
