DAIMLERCHRYSLER AND SIGN AGREEMENT TO RECOMMEND PPG REFINISH SYSTEMS WORLDWIDE

(June 20, 2006--Shanghai China)DaimlerChrysler AG and PPG Industries have signed an agreement for the use of PPG refinish coatings for the repair of DaimlerChrysler vehicles worldwide. Under terms of the agreement, DaimlerChrysler will recommend the use of specified PPG products to its customers. The agreement is for an unlimited period of time.

Among the products recommended by DaimlerChrysler is CeramiClearTM Scratch-Resistant clearcoat, initially designed to repair Mercedes-Benz vehicles manufactured with nanotechnology clearcoat. PPG’s technology is the only nanotechnology clearcoat currently used on Mercedes-Benz production lines. Designated as D8105, PPG’s refinish CeramiClearTM has been warranty-approved for Mercedes-Benz OE finish repairs since 2004.
