QUADRANT ENGINEERING PLASTICS PRODUCTS ANNOUNCES PRICE INCREASE FOR STOCK SHAPES IN EUROPE

LENZBURG, CH – June, 2006 – Quadrant Engineering Plastics Products (EPP) is set to introduce a price increase of up to 8,5 per cent, depending on the kind of product, for its stock shapes in General Engineering Plastics (GEP – like PA-Cast, PA extr, POM, PET), Advanced Engineering Plastics (AEP) and its PE based stock shapes TIVAR® ([PE-UHMW] and PE 500 [PE-HMW])

These increases apply to pricing in Europe and will take effect from June 26, 2006.

This decision is a direct result of the significant increases in cost, which Quadrant EPP has incurred in personnel, raw material, energy, packaging and transportation. In particular, the continuous increase in the cost of Benzene, the main feedstock of most engineering plastics, has been a primary cause of these price increases.

Although Quadrant EPP operates a company wide program of continuous improvements and regularly implements new measures to improve productivity in order to help containing cost, the present price increase is unavoidable given the substantial increases in cost.

Quadrant does not foresee any relaxation of this situation in the near future.
